Black bird of grace,
followed by darkless faith,
absorb the light of the silver moon,
to light the cockels of your soul,
let your eyes become a beacon,
to show the world your glittering aura,
and prove to all,
that dark wings can conceal
even the most admirable being.
Black bird of grace,
you've shown them all,
you brim with loyalty, love and life,
you have succeeded in what they cannot,
now you can continue to let your heart fly,
protected in your canopy of lightless wings,
but continue to shine through those bright eyes.
Black bird of grace,
I plea to you,
help my sparrow to hide in night,
help him to escape this earth bound nightmare,
whilst restoring his own shattered spirit,
for you are the best in him.
Show him how to fly above those confined by trees,
and how to escape his unfathomable memories,
so help this sparrow,
to stretch out his broken wings,
and learn once more to fly.

Blackbird
A black winged bird sat atop a roof,
Nonchalantly humming its caws and coos.
For there on the street down yonder it peered,
At the coming of jeers; the walking of fear.
It saluted its foe and hopped to and fro,
Unaware that behind the mask was a heart of gold.
But the blood stained cheeks and pale white hands
Reached out for the bird, thus it succumbed to their demands.
Feathers flew in the wind from the night time air,
A whirlwind of darkness only the night could compare;
The bird found a place where it could perch and respite,
On the shoulder of a corpse oh, what a delight!
A chuckle from a mouth that the he

Undeserved
I don't deserve to be an artist.
I don't know how to hold deep meaningful conversations with strangers.
I don't lament at night about a lover I have lost.
I don't watch the white smoke ebb into darkness.
I don't spend lonely nights admiring the true beauty of the world.
I don't sleep restlessly from the truth of suffering within this world.
I don't lie through my smiles or struggle to create them.
But I do think I am a writer.
I am completely, irreparably damaged.
I cry all night over old words and emotional baggage.
I weep over my lost innocence.
I spend nights

Wow this is lovely. I don't know all the technical terms for poems, but I like how you made it with sysbolism and it is well written.
